THREE WAYS TO FEEL IT
Softness. Freshness. Warmth.
Choose the feel that suits your product.

Softness for garments worn close to the skin.
Combines a supple feel with thermoregulation to create comfortable base layers.

A fresh feel for every move.
Filament yarn combines contact cooling and phase-change thermoregulation, expanding the possibilities for knitted and woven fabrics.

Lightweight warmth for layering.
Adds thermoregulation to air-trapping insulation for warm layers.
PHASE-CHANGE TECHNOLOGY
As it changes from solid to liquid, the phase-change material absorbs heat and stores it as latent heat. This process buffers temperature changes.

A DIFFERENT STARTING POINT
Bio-based means using biologically derived resources as raw materials. Bio-PhasIQ thermoregulation starts with PCM derived from palm kernel oil.
Both the heat-storing core and its flexible shell begin with palm-kernel-oil-derived ingredients. The encapsulated material is incorporated during fiber manufacturing, bringing the raw material's potential into the performance of everyday apparel.
Plant-derived raw materials at the foundation of thermoregulation.
Technology that encloses a heat-responsive core within a shell.
Thermoregulating functionality is incorporated into spinning solutions and masterbatches.
Viscose, nylon and insulation create a wearing feel tailored to the product.
HOW IT FEELS IN MOTION
As more heat transfers from the body to the garment and the PCM reaches its phase-change range, some of that heat is used and stored in the change of state. This is how a layer close to the skin buffers temperature changes.
When conditions allow the PCM in the material to solidify again, it releases stored heat. Heat storage and release help us design thermoregulating layers for changing environments.
Viscose for soft base layers, cooling nylon for fresh-feeling active tops, and insulation for lightweight warm layers. Thermoregulation takes shape in different textures and constructions.
THE BIO-BASED MOVEMENT
PERFORMANCE DAYS has selected bio-based materials as its official focus topic for October 2026. As the industry considers both raw material origins and performance, Bio-PhasIQ offers thermoregulation using plant-derived PCM.
